Welcome to the Kennebec Spooky Jam! A Maine-based game jam during Halloween where developers experiment with fun interactive experiences over a shared theme to be announced when the jam starts. Though you don't need to be a Mainer to submit, we have an in-person meetup and award ceremony (see bottom of the page). In order to vote on submissions or receive awards for your submission you must attend in person :) The only requirements: Have a fun team name Follows the theme in whatever the theme means to you Game is playable by judges on PC Includes a 1-2 minute video showcasing the game loop The theme of this game jam is: CURSED! Diversifier Description If Not Friend, Why Friend Shaped? Befriend a Horror Monster Mash combine 3 or more horror genres together such as monster, sci-fi, etc Frankenstein include a monstrous character creation screen “It’s Alive!” include rotoscoping animation Giallo Use specific colors to represent relationships, danger, and descent to insanity “Pretend It’s Not There” Never show the monster Though not explicitly required we highly encourage developers to try to include one or more diversifiers listed above!
