#2 ABOUT THE JAM Month of Horror is a casual horror game jam, open to any game engine and style of horror game. Simply put, make a horror game based on the jam's Theme, using whatever tools you want. There are also optional Bonus Challenges for those who want more guidance. Hopefully, by the end of the game jam, you'll have something playable you can be proud of! You can also join the jam's Discord server! Theme: Withering Away The most insidious of evils is subtle, slowly taking root where it won't be noticed before it's too late. Then, like a parasite, it attaches itself to things that are good and pure, and drains them of all they are worth. Just as weeds in the garden do, so does this one choke the life out of all other living beings with its vines in order to make space for itself. The sweet, yet foul stench it emanates saps any will to oppose it, leaving nothing behind but listless and apathetic husks. And as everything around it withers and dies, it grows larger, its roots burrow deeper into the earth and its spores spread far and wide to start the process all over again someplace else. And perhaps, in some distant future, it ultimately destroys itself once there's nothing to feed from anymore. But that will happen long after it already robbed the world itself of any meaning it held. But it doesn't have to be a matter of some sinister evil.
