A Music Composition Travel Based RPG Welcome to the Music Travel RPG Jam - a video game music composition journey based on a unique creative limitation - travel to a new location and face a new musical creative challenge each week! (Join the discord for tips and community discussion.) Theme: Futuristic Elevator Tower records in Shibuya is one of the most famous musical meccas in all of Japan. Given your interest and dreams in pursuing the craft, you decide to pay it a visit. During your time there, you discover many sections filled with music, but you notice there is a futuristic looking elevator that helps you get to the upper floors. Intrigued, you take the elevator to the top floor, and while waiting, you decide to compose a song in your head. That is the challenge: Compose Futuristic Elevator music inspired by a typical bossa-nova style. Limitation #1: Bossa Nova You must compose your music as a Bossa Nova. A bossa nova typically features a syncopated bass line using 1's and 5's. Here's an example of a bossa bass line from Super Mario Bros. 3: Water Land: Note that there are other rhythmic variations of this bassline which you are welcome to use, but the pattern of using 1's and 5's remains the same.
