The Raise Your Voice Jam is coming! Get ready to RAISE! YOUR! VOICE! We're excited to bring a brand new event focused on helping developers explore and celebrate the art of voice acting in narrative games. Whether you're fully voicing a short project or adding a few key moments of dialogue to make your story pop, this jam is here to encourage you to experiment, learn, and grow. Raise Your Voice is part of the Visual Novel Developer Network's mission to elevate visual novels and storytelling games by making professional skills like casting, directing, and producing voice acting accessible to everyone. We want to help developers build confidence in working with actors, preparing scripts, and adding performances that make scenes unforgettable. RULES Click on the rules for details and explanations! Scripts must be finalized before recruitment begins! No rewrites allowed! This jam is specifically about adding voice acting to a finished script. You must communicate clearly with your voice actors. When casting, developers must share the following with prospective actors: Total line count for each character. The number of lines considered “vocally stressful” by the SAG-AFTRA definition (such as screaming, etc.) See the top of page 7 of the document for the definition.
